As Lindsay Franklin so aptly states in the introduction to Adored, God does not just love us, He ADORES us.

This beautiful devotional book for young women dives into how God loves us. God loves us through agape love, not through what we typically think of as love. Especially when you look at our society today, with divorce running rampant, everything being acceptable, etc…real love, agape love, God love, shares the truth. We love Him because He first loved us. God IS love. It is not just something He does. It is what He is.
Throughout the devotions in Adored, Lindsay focuses us to remember that God’s love, like God, is unchanging. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever…thank goodness. I can’t imagine what we would all be in for if God changed His mind and decided not to save us! No matter which devotional you read, you can be reminded of some way of God’s unchanging love for us.
Layout & Design
Adored is a BEAUTIFUL hardback book that is designed simply and elegantly. It is very easy to read and follow. The lovely blue, white, and gold bird and floral theme flows throughout and gives you a sense of peace, comfort, and love.
You will love the size and sturdiness of this great devotional for young women. It is made to last and would be a great gift for a young lady on your Christmas list this year!
If you have any young ladies in your life that would like a good devotional, I highly recommend Adored. I personally enjoyed it very much and know it is a great resource for young women (I sort-of still fall into this category, HA)!
Devotion – Day 125
Although all the devotions in Adored are wonderful and applicable for different days and situations in life, Day 125 really hit home for me at the moment. If you don’t already know, I am currently pregnant with our second child after loss. I will be 26 weeks this Thursday, for which I thank God. He has given me the physical, mental, and spiritual strength that I need through my pregnancy with Joy and He is doing the same during my pregnancy with Hope.
In this devotion, Lindsay asks the reader if they have ever felt miserable or distressed. Um, who hasn’t, right?
I went through an extremely difficult and distressing time when we lost our first daughter, Faith in April 2014. While I had a very loving and supportive husband, family, and friends surrounding me, I still felt very much alone and abandoned.
In the days and years that have passed since my relationship with God has grown tremendously. He has reminded me so many times that He has not forsaken or abandoned me. That is precisely the point of her focus in this devotion. It is in these times when it is easy to think that somehow God has forsaken us or left us. Lindsay gently reminds us that is NOT the case. God is always with us giving us the strength we need to get through the trials of this life.
'Like David, we can rest in God's mercy and his care for the distressed.'Click To Tweet
I know as I continue throughout my pregnancy with Hope, I will keep going back to this devotion because it is a perfect reminder of God always being with us and giving us strength. I will continue to press into Him and know that He is always with me and there during my times of misery or distress.
