Lettuce Lake Park ~ Tampa, FL
My Facebook cover photo for the past week has been a picture of the beautiful Lettuce Lake Park located in Tampa, FL. This park is one of my favorite places on earth, literally. My husband and I frequented this park for a number of years. A piece of my heart is there.
This is a park that you can visit all year long. It is beautiful no matter what season it is. It is no surprise to me that Lettuce Lake ranks #7 out of #196 things to do in Tampa on tripadvisor. It is one of the most beautiful and peaceful places I have visited in the U.S. If you love nature, you will love Lettuce Lake Park, without a doubt!Click To Tweet
Connect with Nature
Lettuce Lake Park is the perfect place to connect with nature. God gave us this amazing park with so much beauty. There are amazing trees and other plants as well as animals of all kinds: alligators, snakes, birds, turtles, armadillos, wild turkeys, and many more.
If you have had a rough week, Lettuce Lake is THE park to go to relax. You can breathe in the fresh air, bask in the sun (most days) and just relax. If you want to take a relaxing walk, enjoy the long boardwalk that covers the park. If you prefer to exercise to relax, take a long job on the trail and use the park’s fitness course or rent a kayak and set off down the Hillsborough River. I have stopped and listened to the sound of the water and animals many times at Lettuce Lake. I look forward to doing the same many more times in my life. It is one of the most beautiful and peaceful places I have visited in the U.S. If you love nature, you will love Lettuce Lake Park, without a doubt!
Lettuce Lake is a great place to take your kids to play. You can rent a canoe, hike on the trail, play on the playground, or check out the great visitor’s center.
There is a ton for kids to do to have fun and learn at Lettuce Lake. They can see and read about the animals in the park at the visitor’s center. There is also a boat dock and boat ramp if you want to take the kids out on a boat.
There are plenty of options for play for the adults at Lettuce Lake as well. You will enjoy walking on the 3500 ft. boardwalk, taking a jog along the trail, birdwatching, or enjoying a beautiful sunset on one of the park’s many benches.
Lettuce Lake has some beautiful picnic shelters where you can grill up a great meal. Take your family out for a picnic any time of day and enjoy the wonder of the park. Play some frisbee or ball in the grass and take a nice stroll on the boardwalk. A grilling session at Lettuce Lake will be a very memorable event for you.
